I hope that the requirement isn't just to obtain a high school diploma to be eligible. I would like for RACA to include a GPA requirement to be eligible to apply. The reason that I would like to see such a requirement is because I know quite a few dreamers that do not care about school(they basically do not care about getting an education), and they barely scrap by to obtain a diploma with a very poor GPA(less than a 2.5 unweighted).

Horrible suggestion. Just trying to rule some people out for no reason at all.

Yes, those who do not work hard and do not understand that their parent's have sacrificed a lot so that they can become educated and not have to work in the low paying and labor demanding jobs like their parent's did.

And please state your reason, not just "oh its horrible because I do not agree with it" because that do not allow us to have an actual conversion about my suggestion.

There are 750,000 DACA people under 750,000 different life circumstances. Don't be an asshole and assume things about people. You're not above anyone.

But why would you want to have those that do not work hard and are not bothered about becoming educated be eligible? People do not mind immigrants that are here working hard and making sure that their kids also work hard to improve themselves and this country, but they do mind those that just want to get by by doing the bare minimum. It doesn't matter what your circumstance is to work hard and improve yourself.

Some dreamers have committed crimes, those that involve putting other lives in danger(not those such as using a fake SSN, driving without a license), should they not be excluded because they have "different life circumstances."

Edit: Any by low paying and demanding jobs I mean those such as contraction, lawn mowing, house cleaning, custodial work, fruit picking.

I mean if it was up to me who is decidingthis now which dreamers qualify and which don't (assuming they asked me to somehow design this bill...?) then heck my requirements would be: STEM degree from an ivy league schools or bust, GPA 3.9 MINIMUM, and a $100,000 application fee.

(this is sarcasm by the way)

Whatever standards you have, and you want to impose on others, there will always be someone who has even bigger standards than you.

I thank the lord jesus christ everyday, no dreamer here is politics deciding this for us, writing the requirements of this bill, because damn they would have some really really high bars from them.

Like the other dreamers, some dreamers here were talking about how an application fee for some CIR/DA should be at least 20k (since they made 300k a year, they assume everyone else was)

You are right that other people will want to impose their standard, but that is why people discuss, to agree what the standard should be.

I am not advocating for a standard that very few will qualify. I am advocating for one that will show that you are working hard and doing what you are supposed to be doing, instead of goofing off and not working hard. Something like having a 2.5-2.75 GPA in high school, at the very minimum, would be ok. Why do colleges look for a good GPA, because it is a strong indicator that the student is working hard, which is why I am advocating for a minimum GPA policy, to show that you are working hard. I am bringing up an achievable requirement that fits into why we want RACA to pass, to show that we are hardworking and educated American immigrants.

I commented to have a discussion if it should have a minimum GPA requirement, for high school, and what should the GPA requirement be. So far you have not brought in a reasonable point to what I am arguing about. All you have brought up is sarcasm instead of something noteworthy to contribute to the discussion.

I really like it how you attack all dreamers in here by saying that they are not educated enough to come up with requirements. I would attack you, which would be very easy(just look at your comments), but I will not because that does nothing to a discussion. It would be nothing more than a fallacy and not actual evidence.
