If anybody it's interested in networking or maybe a cross country flight I'm all in. It will be nice to have a group of dreamer pilots do a flight around the US.

Hi, I have some questions

1) Does this program provide helicopter flight lessons also?

2) How long does it take to become licensed?

3) How much does this cost?

4) Is this something you can do on a flexible schedule? (Like weekends only)...or is it like a class with set days and times?

5) I am unable to renew my passport because I need a good bunch of documents from one of my parents in my home country (and I do not see myself getting these documents in the near future if ever)...so I was wondering if I am ineligible from the start?

6) What are the employment prospects like from this?

1)From my understanding yes you have to go thru Tsa to get approval no matter what you are flying.
2) It all depends on you how fast you want to get it done however TSA gives you a year to get it done if not you have to reapply for an other approval.
3) Cost all depends on the school, instructor you choose and how offten can you fly. The more you fly the faster you get it done and the most cost effective. For example if you fly once a week then you might be spending half of your lesson refreshing from the previous week thus taking more lessons to get proficient. But if you fly twice a week minimum then the faster you will become proficient and have more confidence. Though flying more often may cost more up front in the long run it will save you money. I play around 200-300 hundred for a lesson that includes the instructor plus renting the airplane when I don't fly with the instructor then I only pay$115 an hour to rent the airplane. On average you are looking around 7,500-10,000.

4) lesson can be flexible all you have to do is to find an instructor that can work with your schedule.
5) that might be something to ask TSA you can call the 1800 number and ask though I really think you need a valid passport.
6) the sky is the limit it all depends what you want to do with it.

I've now received my Private Pilot License, and renewed DACA with no problems, currently working on my Instrument Rating on my third TSA and second DACA renewal.

Sorry for the late reply, and good luck to you guys!

Don't hesitate to ask more questions if you have any.
Hi lyrad89,
So my question is, is there any possibility to apply to fly commercially? Can you do that through the TSA??

How did you all manage to enroll in these programs? Reading through the government requirements, any kind of flight training requires either a proper visa (not visitor B1/B2) or to be a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) which DACA is not.. ?
