Let's say you apply today March 29 and you put down you want to travel from May 1st to May 15th. Your application takes like 5 months to process and they don't apporve you until September. What happens then? Do THEY decide the dates you will be able to travel?
They will send you a RFE for an updated date. Happened to me when I applied for an AP.

In our situation, they just decided the travel dates for us. We didn't want get an RFE. We had originally requested dates from December, and we got dates for March to June I think.

I am actually wondering the same thing because on my advance parole application I put that I want to travel in June, but it hasn't even been approved or anything yet, all it says was case was received, andI need to give in at least 4-5 weeks from my job for a vacation, but I also asked for multiple entries so we'll see what happens. But I do believe they decide if they haven't approved your application in time for you to go
