Good evening, everyone!

I just wanted to share my recent experience traveling given my current situation and the political atmosphere due to the current administration. I know that there are a lot of lurkers out there that are always trying to find answers to questions etc. I'm one of them as well, so I figured i would share this to help out in case anyone wanted to hear from someone with some firsthand experience.

My daca renewal was denied in 2015 and i have been undocumented ever since. I recently traveled in late March 2017 from Philadelphia International Airport to FT. Lauderdale International ariport roundtrip. I have an expired drivers license from NJ and have a foreign passport issued from my Home country (Colombia) which expires in 2020. I used the passport to pass through TSA and had no issues whatsoever. On the way back though the TSA agent did take a little bit of a harder look at my passport, but nothing crazy and eventually let me through.

Similar experience in the summer of 2016 where i traveled from Philadelphia to Austin, Texas using my passport. I had no issues with TSA etc.

During my most recent travels in 2017 there was no presence at all of CBP agents in the domestic areas of the airport. Of course there are different terminals for international arrivals where they have to go through customs, but thats it. I just want to throw this out there for people who may be afraid to travel even with valid drivers licenses. As a side note my DACA was denied due to a dui conviction in 2014, and yes im very aware of the risks that some of you think I may take flying. I really just want to let you know that living your life in fear constantly due to the threat of deportation is not healthy and good for you in any sense. I hope this reassures some of you and helps in some way.

Thank you for sharing, I do not have daca and was concerned about traveling. I was still planning on doing it regardless, no fear here

Thanks for the information we all make mistakes . I also lost my Daca because of a DUI . Sometimes I hear the UPS truck and think it's ICE not a nice way to live but I'm mentally prepared for the day . I think of them as police that put you in front of a judge .
