Hi Guys.

I applied for my Daca renewal very late
My EAD expired on 2/24/17
My application was received 2/16/17
My Biometrics were done 3/13/17
I received an online access code and setup letter on 3/18/17

When should I expect to see my case approved? It has now been 17 days since my Biometrics. (last renewal I was approved just 6 days after bios).
I have been reading on here and other sites that there have been delays on daca applications. Is that still the case and is it happening to ALL the applicants or just a small amount of unlucky ones? When should I expect my case to be approved and when should I take action to speed it up?

Hi everyone,

This is my first time joining any type of forums and I am pretty nervous about it. I am not much of a writer but lets give this a try. I've read a couple of the threads on this forum and I hope to get somewhat of an answer to my issue. I sent my third renewal back in January since my work permit expired on March 10, 2017. I know, it was a bit late but I was hoping to get it on time. I am also in the process for getting my residency and I wasn't sure how long my residency paperwork would take so I hesitated on my DACA renewable. This would be my third time renewing my work permit, however I am a bit worried and concerned about my application. Back in December 2014 I got arrested and was charged with a misdemeanor for shoplifitng. It was less than $50, a total misunderstanding but the retail store did not want to hear my side of the story. I even offer to pay the "stolen" items but it was useless. I was due to renew my second DACA so I was afraid that the arrrest would show on my record and be denied. At the end of December 2014, I submitting my application for my second renewal, I did not inform USCIS about my arrest since I completely thought that my case was dismissed since I was going to do community service hrs as well as being on "pretrial diversion" To my surprise, I was granted my work permit without any questions asked by USCIS. Was I lucky? maybe, I have no clue. I finished my community service as well as my pre trial diversion witouth any inconveniences. Once again, I just assumed that the arrest would not show on my record but now I am a bit worried that I won't get lucky this time. My work permit expired about two weeks ago, I've been put on leave of absence from work until my work permit arrives. However, this wait is killing me. I am literally sitting at home doing nothing but to worry about this issue. Can USCIS deny my case since I did not submit the papework about my arrest, or will they give me a chance to submit it if needed? Once again, thank you guys for your time!

Be sure to call them ASAP. Someone called USCIS after a long delay and USCIS told him they just started working on his application. We think that it was placed in a pile and remained on the bottom until he gave them attention. None of us can be sure what happened, but the fact of the matter was that the moment he called USCIS, his application status started updating and he got approved shortly after. Most likely a human error.

Don't bother calling them, call your local Congressman. They're more effective at getting things done.

I have seen new EAD's being issued very close to the old one's expiration date.

I think USCIS has this new procedure to issue new EADs right on the expiration of the old one.

I would sit tight if I were you. Until you expire and don't hear anything.
