how long is the wait from DACA approval to receiving EAD in the mail these days? My sister's I-765 got approved 15 days ago but no EAD yet. of course, it's NSC so that could be the cause of the delay but just wondering what people are seeing these days.

I did not go through a non-profit organization to file mine. I ended up doing it myself since it was a bit cheaper. My application was submitted Mid-January, biometrics scheduled for February 1st and I still have not heard back from them. I am wondering if my application is taking longer since I did not have anyone submit it for me.

No it has nothing to do with whether you submit it or someone else for you. Me and my siblings sent twice before through a lawyer which took almost 3 to 4 months each time. This and third time we did not go to lawyer, it was approved within 1 month after the Bio. For my siblings it took a week after Bio, whereas mine took 2 weeks.

Plus it was cheaper, we saved money.

Should people be concerned about being detained and deported when they go in for their biometric appointment? I'm watching too much "Border Town" on Netflix and they have that cannon...XD

I'm right there with you. My case was received on Dec 12th, had Bio on 1/9 and since then there hasn't been any updates on the status of my case. 119 days so far, my EAD expires next month 5/4 and I am growing increasingly anxious.

I wrote my Congressman via email(wondering if I should call them instead?), submitted an inquiry through USCIS whom said they would update me on any findings in 15 days.

The strange thing is my case is being handled in Nebraska yet the service agent I spoke with when I submitted an inquiry says it is being processed in Vermont, which makes sense since it was processed there the last two times and I live in the northeast.

I send an email to my congressman but he hasn't responded yet, I also called USCIS after 105 to submit an inquiry they haven't responded either they said by the 04/04/17 was the target date and if by 21st no answer to call back I have a meeting with my employer this week hope they give leave of absence for 1 or 2 months

Starting to look like this is going to be my next move. I reached out to USCIS again and I finally got a definitive answer. Basically due to "backlog" they just started processing requests filed in September and because mine was sent out in December, he estimates mine will take an additional 60 days!

Also know someone who's adjustment of status case is being postponed for essentially the same reason. Apparently Drumpf's current policies are fueling a massive influx of applications and USCIS is understaffed as it is.

Best of luck to you.

Update: I decided to call my congressman's office despite having emailed them already and much to my surprise I got an immediate response. I told them the reason for my call was in regards to a pending immigration case and was immediately transferred to a very impassioned staffer who reminded me her boss was a long time advocate of the DREAM Act/ voted for it ect.

I explained my situation and she assured me they'd do everything they can. I was asked to fill out a privacy release form and to include any receipt numbers pertaining to my case. Apparently they aren't allowed to contact USCIS on your behalf without a written consent form that's been signed by the applicant.

I plan on reaching out to my employer since I will be adjusting status via marriage soon (got hitched last month) and read that working with an expired EAD would render one's eligibility void. I advise you all to do the same.

Also, found this very helpful (for those of you in the same boat as me):
