You are right. Here is a post on carrying your Green card. Should apply to EAD

My wife always carries her passport with her all the times in the US.

He is boned.

DHS says they cannot find the record of when he was deported the first time. He has one confirmed deportation, unlawful presence and four convictions. Without the first deportation, it will be hard to bring him back.

Feel sorry for the guy, hope they can bring him back.

Hmmm...

Quote:
In a lawsuit released Tuesday, lawyers for Juan Manuel Montes Bojorquez allege that the 23-year-old was deported from California to Mexico on February 18, despite having active protection under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. In the lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act, lawyers claim that Montes had renewed his DACA status, a protection to undocumented immigrants who were brought to the US as children initiated under the Obama administration, in 2016, which would keep him protected until 2018.

But the Department of Homeland Security claims that it has no record of Montes' renewal, and that his status expired in 2015.

For some reason you're approached by ICE, they ask "are you here legally?"

What you gonna answer?

You CAN'T say "yes". All you gonna do is answer "I have DACA."

If you don't have your EAD with you, you're going to get booked. Good luck!

If you have your EAD, there is no reason to book you.

Original Dream Act required SOMETHING from us. Military service or 2 year college degree. If you can't get either of this, you don't deserve DACA. Period.

Carrying EAD at all times is Bullshit, you say?

Prominent Immigration Attorney doesn't think so!

Lawfully present nonimmigrants (e.g. DACA, U Visa, EADs, Visitors, Students, H1Bs, etc.). Carry with you at all times your Employment Authorization Document, I-94 card, passport with entry stamp, or other proof of lawful presence (see the law above). Carry the original with you and keep a photocopy in a safe place at home, especially if you are within the 100 mile border area (more than 60% of the US population lives in this zone).

Just when I thought your bullshit wasn't going to get worse. People don't get approached by ICE regularly like you're mentioning. Maybe you just live in some border town or are just paranoid. So basically when you just said we are required to have our EADs by law you were basically telling us your opinion. Stop scaring people on here because you've got your own issues. Nobody gives a shit. DACA is 100% safe. You need your EAD only when you travel and you need to stay out of trouble 100% of the time. Now that's the end of the story. Period.

wonder why was he out of DACA since 2015. This is getting murky. But the biggest mistake I see here is crossing into Mexico.
