Should I go to the place where I got it done last time? They are charging me $100. Is there any way I can do it myself? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I need to renew it asap and I did find some info but I need to be 100% sure it's the right documents.

You should do it yourself, it's actually really easy. Back in 2012 when the program went into effect, I wanted to do it all by myself but my mom insisted we go to a paralegal. They charged us $300 plus the $465 fee. I was really pissed because she wouldn't let me do it myself, but I was 17 back then so not much say in the matter.

Last time I renewed I did it all by myself. I haven't renewed since 2014 because I got a 3-year EAD, but I've done it twice for my sister and once for my cousin. Basically all you need to do is make a short cover letter, write out a check or money order to DHS, complete forms i821-D, i765, and i765WS and include all of that along with a copy of the front and back of your EAD, then mail the whole package to USCIS. If you want help on specific stuff, like how to answer certain questions on the forms, you should visit the threads posted in the Lounge section of this forum. Again, it's actually very easy.

Can anyone link me to the thread about renewing DACA? I'm having trouble finding it.

DACA 2016 Thread

This one should give you the info you need. All the requirements should be the same.
I sent one of those manila folders with one side containing all of the applications (i821-D, i765, and i765WS) and on the other side, all of the evidence such as pictures, check, and photocopies. Do not staple anything. At most, use paperclips instead.

Again, it should be an easy process. Follow USCIS's instructions if needed. These are available on USCIS's site along with the PDF's of the application forms. Good luck.

Short cover letter?

USCIS does not want cover letters. Please don't feed bad information.

It's not a requirement.. but I've always sent a cover letter detailing the contents of the package (in order) for my package as well as when I did my sisters.
