New work permits ca dmv

Ca dmv wont renew drivers license because the new work permits are not on their system

Can you clarify? I just received my notice to renew headed there either today or next week

Do you reside in California? Because I got my new work permit and the people from the DMV told me they haven't updated their system so I had to call this number they gave me and fax my work permit and license number
