BIA decisions

So I called the 1800 number to check the status of my parents case about their removal/exclusion orders. I got "motion to reopen was completed, case terminated" for my mum, does that mean her deportation order is gone now?

for my dad i got "motion to reopen was denied" I dont know, this sounds like bad news.

I cant tell the differences in their language, plz help. They both have their green cards btw.

Seems like good news for Mom and bad news for Dad. A motion to re-open needs to be granted first before any removal proceedings can be looked at. It seems like your mom not only successfully re-opened, but her proceeding terminated as well...she might be in the clear for adjustment IF an overstay. However, Dad's motion was denied, and cannot adjust without the court because of an on-going order/proceeding.

Imo, I think a FOIA should be done only both cases to be absolutely sure on what the government has on file AND what their cases were about before filing anything. Still, both might still have a decent short at becoming residents(mom more so than dad though).

They are both permanent residents already. Yeah, I finally got in touch with my lawyer and he said my mum is good to go, and we have to see what the denial letter said for my dad.
