It's not only a matter of heart but you have to remember that Trump is a business man.

DACA brings in lots of revenue, from renewals, from taxes, good for the economy etc.. Trump knows all this, why would he rescind it?

A DACA recipient would say such a thing baffles me. "Trump is a good man.." Now isn't that quite a leap of faith?

Do we understand the gravity of the situation? This letter is a very simple statement and that's where the threat comes from. If "business man" Trump decides to not take any action by September 2017 (much earlier than that actually), the 9 attorney generals will put a lawsuit on DACA which will put a hold on it. The only way DACA can be saved is if it is moved by Trump's administration to Congress to pass something more substantial (read: DREAM ACT) in exchange of something that he needs done.

Whether he is a "business man" is irrelevant. This is not very tough for someone who has his moralities right, but for Trump it's "very, very, difficult subject." (his words)

CNN has finally covered this.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/30/politi...ind/index.html

But still nothing on TV. I do not understand why this isn't getting the attention it so deserves. My fear is that by the time channels cover this, it will too late to take any action.

We aren't as important as some on this board think we are. We are just a headline, when ratings are needed. That's all. When they need to rile up the anti-immigration people, they puff up about amnesty. When they need pro-immigration stuff, they give you a nice heartfelt mini documentary on a dreamer.

Yup. Kamala Harris who supposedly has our backs hasn't even twitted about us yet. Dams probably want Trump to start going after us just so they can capitalize politically

Agreed but we need to be a bit less cynical. For media, believe me it's all about the channel ratings - which means translates into money for them. If we make some noise, rile politicians up (local representatives, senators), this will get noticed regardless of what folks on Capitol Hill want.

Here's what I suggest - I am not sure how many members there are on this forum, but numbers look significant.

Can we start with posting our home state? New York, California, etc.?

I can compile list of folks on here with their states. Then, we can develop a more organized approach to reaching out to senators / representatives.

I will start. New York.

Guys I need some advice.

I was going to apply for DACA for the first time this Wednesday, July 5th with an immigration lawyer. However, this news broke out and now I don't know what to do.

My heart is telling me to still apply, with the hopes that with the info of those that applied, some law will pass through Congress that allows those to remain in the US. I feel that it's now or never - and I want to apply NOW.

I am 19 years old and just received my associates degree in engineering with honors, and no criminal record. I feel that I should take the risk since I hope that I won't be a priority for deportation, but with this administration you never know.

What should I do?

It sounds odd and dangerous but I would rather have USCIS at least receive my application have it in their DACA application pool then to not do anything at all.

What's your advice?

The only thing we know is that it hasn't been stopped yet. So that means, apply while you can. Because they may stop taking new applications. Just get yours in.
