Hello,

I've seen quite a bit of "Puerto Rico" threads, but one really seems to know the requirements for a trip to the Virgin Islands. Has anybody actually visited these islands before? Will you need your (DACA) card? Or will a copy of the card suffice? I recently lost my card during a trip to San Francisco, but I have all of my paper documentation at home, including the approval letter from USCIS and a copy of the card itself. Will the copy suffice or should I not take any chances?

Thank youuuuuu

It should be ok. Just be careful of the ferry as some do travel over to BVI. If that happens, you have voluntary given up DACA and abandon any application.

This would be terrible.

I imagine is mostly u.s.c s who go there or live there so there might be little warning between trips about any borders since both countries have lax immigration between each other.

It would be, hence the due caution.

St. John, a USVI island, is closest to BVI territory. It is not only USC, but British and other European nationals who are on cruise ships going throughout this part of the Carib. It is that somewhat lax rules that promote tourism between BVI and USVI.

I went last summer. coming back you do go through customs, I was asked what was the purpose of my visit, if I was a U.S citizen if not, what was my legal status I told him I had DACA I gave him my DL, and I also handed my ead just in case. It all took about 5 minutes!

Amazing! Thank you for this information. I will head down to St Thomas for a week for my honeymoon.

Did you go to St John? Is there anything you recommend? Should I rent a car?

You will need a car to get around! You do drive on the left side of the road! I did go to St,John and water island that's where honeymoon beach is located its a quiet okay beach you'll probably need a golf cart to go around the tiny island unless you prefer to walk... coki beach and magens bay in St.thomas have a nice scenery and so is trunk bay in St.John but gets crowded. Basically, is all beach and scenery you see in the islands. Enjoy the trip..

yes, that's exactly the question I wanted to ask, I want to go somewhere tropical with my boyfriend we've been dating for over a year. I was thinking Hawaii at first but it's super expensive , so I looked up the US virgin islands, St Croix, Thomas, and John are all part of the US. It said coming back you do go through customs but they just check your identity and it's considered a domestic flight. Beehive, let me know how your trip goes!
