Luckily I received a letter to renew my DL for another 4 years, mailed it last week. Plan b is to lay low, keep a low profile and stay out of trouble. Hopefully, after 3 years a new president/congress give people who were DACAers some sort of relief. Also, I will propose to my employer I become an independent contractor, this way when I AOS in the future I don't have any problems.

Long shot but that's all I have, Hope.

Here is the issue with that. The REAL ID ACT. I know certain states are still lacking behind the REAL ID ACT but once that's enacted everyone will have to re apply for new licenses. The new deadline is 2020 and from what I read that was the last extension for everyone to be on board and their old licenses will no longer be valid, regardless of its experitation date.

This can not be the end . What about families, people attending college, business owners, etc. Ending DACA does not solve the problem but it makes it worse. At this point, I just feel nervous and depressed that it might all be over.

I'm in the system as a "normal" person.

It does not matter, every single person in your state will have to re-apply for a license again and proof that their eligible for it. It's a law that was passed by congress after the terrorist attacks except now they will no longer extend it and have set an official deadline for 2020 for every state to comply.

If you got a license for 5 years is most likely that they are not and are only listed as "in process". I was as excited as you were when I got my 5 year license and when I heard about the REAL ID act being enacted I was bummed.

I'm just a bit surprise we haven't heard much from congressional leaders Durbin, Ryan, Graham etc.. The ones who can really save us actually. Usually we would hear something substantial from Senator Durbin already, only that one tweet from last week.. Something has to be brewing behind the scenes....
