Let me get this straight. Once again, they'd rather us lose DACA, go back into the shadows, so that in the end no one gets legalized?

Wow. I don't get this mentality.

I'm a DACA recipient, and I accept this compromise.
What compromise?? Is there a compromise plan? Show me the compromise plan! All you guys are doing is arguing with yourselves and offering things without getting anything in return. RAISE sucks.

The idea behind the RAISE Act is quite good actually. A merit based system is what this country needs (minus the discriminating against Non-English speaking immigrants..that I definitely don't like). Currently in order to move here you need to have a blood relative Citizen and even then it could take decades. Completely unfair and stupid! Canadian system is amazing! It doesn't punish immigrant students after graduating who don't have work sponsorship. My cousin recently went there on a student visa, graduated, was able to work legally AND then got his PR! Amazing.

SOME thoughts behind the Raise act are good but the cutting of the total number of immigrants by half is a deal-breaker as far as I'm concerned and shows the true intention of the bill. Furthermore, it doesn't take into account the potential of people.

There is a guy I heard give a speech once who was smuggled out of his country, thrown in jail in another country until he was able to get out and get to the US and work in a fast food restaurant for years and now he owns several franchises and employs hundreds of people. That guy would have had zero chance. I know many of these types of stories. Raise act shuts these types of people out in favor of those who have already made it and they tend to come from European countries. This is a dog-whistle bill.

Grant green cards to all dreamers. Build the wall.. i dont care. Dreamers were born on the wrong side of the fence. This is my country; this is our country. I have been here since i was 3 years old. Daca has given me a career, an identity. I will NOT go back to the shadows. We are not turning back on our people... contrary to that... we are representing the entire potential in the immigrant community. Heck, I would even dare to say that we are not even in the same pool/category as the average undocumented person. We have worked hard, abide by the rules.. We deserve better.

This is not about trading our souls or humanity. This is about being realistic in the current political climate. How many years has it been debated about doing something for illegal immigrants yet nothing has came to pass? 10 years? 20 years? Would you truly rather have everyone in the shadows instead? I rather stop worrying about my status and be able help my undocumented family than have everyone worrying about the future.

More money for detention centers =/= mass deportation for millions of people.
The main issue I have is once you get yours nobody gets theirs forever!!!

You won't be able to help your parents at all stop fooling yourself. What you gonna sent back $200 a month to what ever country .

Everything was fine until they started messing with the legal immigration system! Absolutely no compromise !

Come on guys have some darn self respect and pride . Be brave and stand up for what really matters family !

My parents recognize their mistake coming and staying here illegally. They feel terrible for it. They are ready to go back to their country if it doesn't work out for them.

So, no, UWD and Astrids of all sorts. I'm not going back to the shadows.
" Thirty pieces of silver was the price for which Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus, according to an account in the Gospel of Matthew 26:15 in the New Testament."

All it took was a green card to show us what really matters to us .

give up your DACA then. because it's thanks to those advocacy groups that we even have it. It is thanks to people with UWD that did sit-ins, civil disobedience acts, got arrested multiple times during Obama's term, etc, that we have DACA. How did you contribute to get DACA?

Seriously, like some others have said, appalling how many 'dreamers' are willing to screw the rest to save themselves. But I guess that's the american way? it's almost ironic

Unite we Dream has to stop acting this way, this is doing NO help for us !
They heave to realize " Amnesty for all " is impossible, they have to understand that . They don't speak for all DACA recipients. I support border wall, strict enforcement, E-verify exchange for DACA legislative amnesty, but I absolutely do not support deportation of non-criminal undocumented immigrants!
