Yeah I really think this Sept 5 deadline is actually a boon for us! It will force the admin to take a concrete stance and do something! Hopefully it can also force the Democrats to come to the table before DACA is killed without a replacement.

Woah now, let's just wait and see what happens September 5th. With this administration, anything can happen honestly.

My biometrics app is for September 1st. Going to try to do a walk in either tomorrow or Thursday (depending on if my pimple goes away lol :/)

I really don't think existing EADs and in progress applications would be affected. It's just not logical. Even if they rescind DACA, they will simply stop accepting NEW applications. Just breath easy.

Please. Anything is possible with this joke of an administration. Trump is unpredictable.

I'm trying to but it's really hard living with this uncertainty. Hopefully I can do a walk in and at least have some peace of mind that I tried my best.

Damn...just this morning I was worrying about whether I should purchase on Xbox or not...

Now my worries are much much different. As silly as that seems, it sucks that we live such emotionally volatile lives.

So here's a thought. Seems like there's a strong contingency here that is on behalf of tacking on DACA in exchange for the RAISE act.

The RAISE Act is designed to introduce a point system based on your occupation, what you can bring to the country, etc. Basically creating tiers of immigrants.

So if we're going to tack on an amnesty for "children" which lets face it, are now grown adults, why should they not also be subject to the tier system.

Maybe the thought of legal status for 800k-3 million DREAMers is too much for the Republicans to swallow. But what if they could reduce that number while touting a tier system amongst the DREAMers.

Why not set a certain quota, let's say 500k rather than a mast amnesty for everyone playing the line of "I was brought here against my will" blah blah, the same Democrat line.

So instead, set a tier where DREAMers that have obtained a doctorate, a professional degree, something more than a simple college, technical or community college certificate, ahead of the line. And THEN, once those soldiers, doctors, Lawyers, pharmacists, software engineers have taken the spots, whatever is left, give it to the others.

If we're going to put a quantitative value on the contribution of each immigrant, it shouldn't just stop at the RAISE act.

Why should a DREAMer who coasted through community college be out ahead in the line of someone like a doctorate who can bring more value to their contribution? Lets not kid ourselves. Some DREAMers bring more value than others. If you're going to harp on the principle of the RAISE act, it shouldn't just stop there. Extend it to DACA tacked into the RAISE

Take this post with as much sarcasm as youd like.

If a system like that where in place I would imagine them granting amnesty to those that have a profession in shortage. Dreamers who are lawyers, have degrees in humantiies, etc. will not be pardoned because those jobs are in low demand and are "taking jobs from Americans."
