You "Legalize Dreamers now and we'll fight for the rest later" need to be honest with yourselves and admit that's just not going to happen.

You're going to scatter just like everyone did as soon as they had their DACA and only show up to tell everyone how their trip to [insert generic touristy spot here] was sooooo much fun and how much money you're earning.

If we're going to prevail we and all our allies, both Democrats and Republicans, need to enter the debate calm, cool, and collected. We shouldn't sell ourselves short for a short term gain.

Wasn't talking about this forums. When the Tea Party arose there was the same talk about the Republicans imploding or what ever. Hell, one of the reasons why democrats thought trump had no chance was because of the idea that old school and establishment republicans wouldn't show up for trump.

Anyhoo, DACA was the first of its kind so I can understand why they wanted to keep it on the down low and make it more attractive to people who might be against amnesty by putting the age cap on it. I never agreed with it but understand the logic.

In just 2 years, they realized the mistake and fixed it. I had all my proof gathered and my lawyer was ready to go as soon as the official application was posted. I even took the god damn passport photo at a CVS which i still have the night before it was supposed to go into effect and an hour later, REPUBLICAN Greg Abbott along with his AG Paxton, sued Obama and a Republican appointed judge put an injunction on it. It later went to the 5th circuit court and more Republican appointed judges confirmed the lower court ruling.

These are all facts here and given these facts where a Democratic President who already gave the gift of DACA to you fine people also extended the same gift to me and many of your parents and it was a series of Republicans who put a stop to it, your brilliant conclusion is that Democrats are my real enemy and I should support Republicans?

PS. these fine and good hearted Republicans that you admire are the same two who want to take your DACA away on September 5th.
In just two years, they fixed . . . Dude, you make it seem like they made a little minor mistake. You probably handle it well, but I know other dreamers who did not meet the age cap and were devastated. Dems screwed you over; I am sure they know there were dreamers who had aged out but played politics with the age requirements--plain and simple. This is PART of the reason why you are waiting for your family petition.

Yes, Republicans have been largely to blame; I admit that, but some Republicans (albeit a few) do support us. The Diaz Balart Brothers, Curbelo, and the other ones mentioned in the GOP letter of support in another thread. So, you can't really generalize that all the GOP legislators are racists.

Do not blindly align yourself with the dems, they helped screw you over. That's a clear undeniable fact.

I am just not going to sell my soul along partisan lines like you or other dreamers do because that does not realistically get shit done. You need to come to the center or be willing to work with the other sides. You can't be like the Dems and say, Dreamers are not for bargaining? Fuck it? Why not? It's a small step for the community. At what cost? some of you say . . . our parents will be screwed? Aren't they already? I live in So Cal, so we have to deal with a lot of border patrol and ice.

Honestly people need to understand we are getting either a COMPROMISE or NOTHING. I'm going to go with compromise on this one. It is the only way forward. Sure we should start a bill as high as possible but we should be open to compromising amendments from Republicans. Pushing for conditional permanent residency for DACA recipients is the best thing to do right now. The rest will
Happen if this happens!! Let them build a wall and implement a Merit based legal system..what the hell is your problem with it???
