I am also from NYC, and reading your post felt like looking at my own reflection in the mirror.
I've been living in NYC for 17 years, and trust me when I say I have been in your shoes.
Perfect GPA and achieving your American dream seem just too distant when your options for better future are so limited.
You can cry and blame things to others (for me, most of my blame went to my mom who came up with the whole American immigration thing in the first place), but it only gonna deepen the frustration that lays inside of you.
My advice to you is just to live your life to the fullest. I know that it sounds like one of those cliches you've heard a thousand times, but looking back my own past, it really is THE advice I can offer. There will always be something that you just cannot control in your life, but having such obstacle does not mean that your life will be over (although it does feel like it) Just start from things you can control and move from there.

When I was finally finished with my college, and wasn't able to find a decent job even with two degrees in my hand, I felt like the world was going to end, and maybe to some extent I wished that it would. I saw friends from high school and colleges all moving on with their lives, and building career for better future when my immigration status just put a big immovable boulder right in front of my face. So I just quitted trying all together and went on with part time, off-the-table jobs that had nothing to do with my career. It only has been a couple of years since I began rebuilding my life, and I am trying my best to not to think about all of these years I had wasted. As one of your fellow DACAers and precedents, I really hope that you can dream your life beyond the whole DACA thing. I know it will not be easy but keep on trying. Feel free to PM me if you have anything.

I am from NYC also and I was extremely lucky to have been renewed in August and now with the news that he will let the EADs expire; I have until Aug of 2019. I am hoping there is some legislative solution to our problems because this stress and weight we have to carry shouldn't be experienced by anyone. I hope my AOS from my moms petition comes to fruition within this time I have.

Thank you all for your comments of support and enthusiasm. I definitely feel more relaxed and less anxious today. Nice to see other NY'ers here too lol. I definitely will try to live life to the fullest, I just sometimes feel hopeless. Doesn't make it any easier that I'm gay so I'll probably have to find some American guy But i'll just try to keep on going...
