I think we all know Reps will not just handout DreamAct for nothing. Dems are following the lead of their constituents. In the past immigrant orgs took the hard line and wouldn't give an inch but they are now realizing without giving something up nothing will get passed. The difference now is that there's a deadline and if nothing gets passed, the Dems and those orgs will be seen as the part of the problem.

Many of us just want to get something done/passed. The options are not many. Yes, we understand that we should not throw anyone under the bus and that's not what we are doing. Do you think I want my mom and dad to get deported? no. But even they are hoping that the DreamAct gets passed.

Right now we have the majority of congress on both sides in support of the Dreamers. Even if it means letting Reps and Trump want to take credit for immigration reform so be it.

DACA HAD TO END.

Listen, the only options with DACA were to wait for the lawsuit to take place and have us lose in court then get our permits taken right away OR have what Trump did and give congress time to get something passed. Otherwise, we would continue being in limbo on and on and on.... living with uncertainty and not being able to travel and delaying our future. I personally just want a decision so I can decide to stay or move somewhere else. Like many have said, its not the end of the world.

TAKING ACTION

I've noticed many Dreamers are very young and probably don't remember how DACA came about. I am 33 yrs old and I know and seen all the work, marches, sit ins that took place to get something like this passed. So now that we have this window/opportunity open, we can't let it close. Everyone needs to put energy into it, go to a meeting/march/do phone calls/participate in trainings/donate money etc.

There is no excuse not to do something. You may choose to not do anything but I'm telling you, not only will you help this movement but you will get so much out of it. I've met so many friends, gotten jobs, built relationships, traveled, all because I participated and got involved.

So Just want to close by saying stay hopeful, take action, know the history of DACA, and be flexible with negotiations. The survivors are not always the strongest ones but the most flexible.

Also for the taking action part, we can continue to repost HELPFUL articles everyday so people don't drown us out and forget about us.

Well apparently Trump is using DACA as leverage for building his wall, which will never be agreed on.
