A lot of legal scholars said DACA would have survived court challenge, but it's a moot point now.

Allowing renewals while stopping new apps would have been defendable in court as there would be an economical hardship factor in place IMO.

Possibly. I'm not a lawyer lol... but I would rather have Trump give the 6 months and tell congress to do something than not do anything and risk losing DACA permanently IMO

There is hope and then there is being a fanboy of the guy who ran on a very anti-immigrant platform and has kept his word about cracking down on all undocumented people. First it was "He's a good guy because he didn't remove DACA on his first day like he promised" but then he got rid of any chance DAPA and eDACA had.

You have hope, great. But let's see if the Dream Act passes before showering him with praise.

Congress has its window to act, but are they going to? Probably not.

And if they don't, then DACA will die and phase out. You'd have to be delusional to think that Trump will "go back and revisit the issue". That's never going to happen.

Trump doesn't even care about American citizens. What makes you think he cares about you?

Trump is not forcing the Congress to pass legalization us, he is just passing the ball to the Congress.

In his heart, he may be sympathetic to dreamers, because he had said it over and over again. But do you think we are more important to his base? No. I don't think so. It's true he is being forced to terminate DACA because of the lawsuit, that doesn't mean he will actively push for legalization for us. Now he is like "Sorry, congress you have to pass something to protect them, not my problem anymore."

Do I think this is bad for us? No, this is reality, considering Trump ran on anti-immigration, this day would come sooner or later under this administration.

Do I think congress will pass something/anything? It's a political game, each side has to get something, right now Democrats and Republicans are just testing the water, the gridlock is very worrisome, I'm afraid it will be all finger pointing and nothing gets done.

Do I think we will be fine? Yes and no, not everyone will be lucky, more and more DACA holders will be deported.

With an attitude like that, why are you wasting your time here?

Because my immigration court date is not until February 2018.

I don't have a choice.
