This is only the first attempt guys (without any compromise)... it will take time. Remember in December they have to vote on a must pass budget bill so our best opportunity will be then...

As of now we will continue with more efforts to get DA passed!

This was a hail mary. No way in hell a Republican would be okay with attaching the Dream Act as it stands to an appropriations bill and pass it. What they're saying is that we need to discuss and debate and compromise and add some border security and whatnot to the Dream Act and THEN pass it. This was most definitely NOT a blow to us. This was just more for theatrics to just get the ball rolling.

Yeah, it's easy to be civil when there is nothing urgent on your side. It's like say for example, the British took over your country and treated you like a second class citizen in your own country and bragged about their civility while you were trying to have equal rights. I'm sure there were natives who thought "Let's give our imperial overlords a chance!"
