Even though I'm not making 6 figures, not even close, I'd be willing to go to 50k. Hell, I'd sell the car and buy a beater, use the money I was planning on using as a down payment for a condo/house and take out a loan if need be, if there was no installment option available.

I, too, see it as an investment, because the certainty and peace of mind that an unrestricted legal status brings would let you plan for the long run, and not worry whether someone will rescind it or not. Sure, it'd suck to shell out a fortune, but it'd suck even more to have to restart somewhere from the bottom.

But you're not owed anything though. I was brought here at 2 weeks, but I'll gladly pay any amount, within reason, to get legalized

Can't afford more than $50k at this time, but I wouldn't mind taking a loan if necessary.

Never said I was. If they want to pass a Dream Act, so be it.

In all seriousness, I think a fine between $1,000 - 5,000 is reasonable per head.

Honestly I don't see a reason why anyone would pay more than the application fee. I can't see realistically the government asking us to pay thousands of dollars in fees for being brought to the country as children.
