the numbers/votes are there for us in Congress, but even if we file for discharge petition, Trump will veto it because he wont sign a clean Dream Act Bill.

only way for this to work:

bipartisanship w/ reasonable concession from both sides, no fucking lowball offers from republicans who offer us just "protections" for curbing immigration/wall provisions.

and or

attach DREAM ACT as an amendment to debt ceiling 3 months, military reauthorization, and other must pass legislation to continue government funding to avert a shutdown.

On the other hand, it was better to announce the conversation with Trump before he changed his mind... which he did anyway but at least this makes him look like a flip-flopper - yet again!

Ryan may be many things but he's not dumb; not getting DACA done will be a PR disaster for the GOP in 2018. The polls are also widely supportive of Dreamers. It's crazy how powerful their crazy base is. A fraction of the nation holds everyone else hostage on everything.

Yea, they were trying to drive the narrative and have some control over the discussion.

His base doesn't care how many times he flip-flops as long as the end result is favorable to them. The only reason Breitbart went into a frenzy is because Pelosi mentioned there will be no wall. They just couldn't help themselves.

So basically, they just want to pass DACA through congress. No Residency, No Citizenship. No Dream Act....

I would settle with permanent residency forever. I don't care for citizenship.
