Things is, as Got_Daca noted for you, this is about the DREAM Act. Our parents knew what they were getting into when they came here. They were aware of staying here illegally while bringing us here. We didn't.

This also means that if our parents were able to come to the US and live here long-term without documentation, then, yes, indeed, the immigration system is broken. Do you want a new generation of DREAMERs 20-30 years from now, again? Do you want to put a new generation of children through the agony, stress and anxiety that we went through growing up undocumented in a country that feels ours, but the government says it isn't?

In order to avoid that, the immigration system must indeed be reformed.

Sometimes I do wish my parents hadn't brought me here without a plan to legalize ourselves. If I have made it past obstacle after obstacle here in the US, finishing my education, getting an advanced degree and an amazingly well paying job, all while being an "illegal," I know I could've achieved wonders in my home country. As an adult – not a child – I would've perhaps opted to come to the US legally.

So, yes, the immigration system in the US is broken. A change is needed. In the meantime, our current plight is to gain legalization for us, having been brought here as children. Once legalized, so many doors will open for us. The no compromise approach will leave not just our parents, but also us, without status.

It's time to compromise.

Even employers don't use E-verify there is still a process to identify the candidate. The point being is you can't and shouldn't use fake paper.

All I'm asking is for no everify, let them keep living here and working here. They have a life here and are just as American as you and I, because they have lived the same amount of time as you and I have in the u.s. Even though they were not raised here they have grown accustomed to this life. I'm not asking for no border security just help us dreamers without hurting anyone else. This is about us not them. Let congress fix the border and make new laws and that's it.

My parents understand the limbo I’m in. They know how uncertain I feel about my future and how hard I’ve worked for it. They’re more than fine not being legalized as long as I am.

Are you okay with them being deported?

I dont see how a no Everify DA would be hard to pass, seeing how republicans want to keep mexicans from flooding the country after a DA or CIR for the most part.

that being said, if there's no other way then oh well. i'm sure 11million minus 800k leaving their jobs wont affect the country at all.

we will finally get an organized "day without mexicans"

No one would be ok with their parents being deported but they have said they’ve lived a life and it’s time I live mine. They wouldn’t be going back to a bad life in Mexico. I know that much.

Guys, beggars can’t be choosers. Let’s fight for DA first and then we can focus on our relatives later. We didn’t get this far to complain about out parents’ situations. Congressmen very clearly pointed out that they broke the law, not us.

Let’s focus on the main topic here.

Y'all seem to forget the last time e-verify was brought up, Republicans killed it. They want their cheap tomato pickers; don't fool yourselves. If e-verify doesn't get pushed/mentioned, you'll know they don't give a flying fuck about their constituents' opinion on immigration and you'll get confirmation that's it's always been about politics.
