Hey all,

Let's just say DACA stays as is (legislatively or otherwise).
I am considering exploring management consulting jobs which may entail extensive travel. Certainly domestic but could be international as well depending on clients.
For jobs like this where client gigs come up regularly and not always predictable, is it possible to use advance parole with DACA?

Or are jobs like this not even an option for us DACA people.

Please let me know! thanks

Unfortunately USCIS is no longer allowing anyone to apply for Advance Parole. So any job that requires international travel will not be a good idea. If something passes to help DREAMers it will all depend on what and if international travel is allowed.

I travel extensively for work domestically and never had an issue. I was flying in and out from Dallas to NY every week for the past 9 months for work and took weekend trip pretty much all around the country during the weekend rather than coming back home.

International travel, on the other hand, is tricky. I have not risked it even with AP. I am a visa overstayer so AP would not have done much good. I had opportunities to travel abroad but told my company I couldn't and they were understanding about it. WOULD LOVEEEE to travel aboard though!

Domestic travel should be cake as long as you have a DL and valid EAD.

Never use your EAD as a primary source of ID. Instead, use your DL. Keep your EAD handy in case you run into any trouble and you should be fine.

Well the job wouldnt start until next Fall, by which point I am hoping DACA is resolved somewhat more permanently.

Would international/top consulting companies (or other global companies) have an issue with travel restriction?

If DACA goes back to normal then you could apply for AP and ask for multiple entries for one year.

I traveled internationally A LOT when I first got DACA. I had to go to USCIS every time and get an AP document and pay for it. (It's $360) however, right now, our AP privileges are on hold. If I were you, I would not risk it. Also, under DACA you do not qualify for a multiple entry AP valid for one year, they only allow it for 1 month.
Domestic travel is not an issue, just use you ID. You can even use your valid passport from whatever country you're from. Hope this helps!

Not true, man. People have gotten it for longer and 1 year. I got mine for two months

So let's just say DACA stays. (Lets pretend Trump's opposition re: DACA never happened.)
So to be clear, WITH advance parole, (say if you have a client in London), you cannot ask for a single pass (idk to be used within a year) for multiple entries back and forth bw nyc and london right? It can only be ised once and that's it?

It depends on what you ask for and what they feel like granting. You need have good evidence that you will need multiple entries and that you need it for one year. Make sure your boss writes a really good letter. Or you can also request for one entry if that's all you need. And you can use for any where in the world. So if you put that you need to go to London multiple times but later you have to meet a client in Japan, you can go to Japan too with that same AP.
