This is Pelosi's stupid attempt to fool Dreamers. Be alert.
If this DREAM Act fails, and only when it does, she has any chance to become Speaker next year.

She is pretending to be doing something, in fact, she is ruining the chance.
What we need now is 'compromise', not insisting partisan interests.

Even if discharge petition succeeds, Trump's veto is the next move.

Pelosi has publicly stated that she understands that some sort of compromise will be needed, such as added border security. If discharge petition works, it will still be needed to pass the senate, conference committee, and then land on Trumps desk.

I'm not being cynical. Democrats have leverage in December to pass the Dream act. What they are trying to do right now is cement their status as the ones that fought for us. Even if the discharge petition works, they don't have that option in the senate OR trumps veto.

They also don't want to compromise too much when they know they can pass a clean DA in December.

Obamacare repeal failed and tax reform failure is next. The republican intraparty war will be worse come December. They'll be begging to sign the DA just to keep govt funded.
