Federal officials are planning to collect social media information on all immigrants, including permanent residents and naturalized citizens, a move that has alarmed lawyers and privacy groups worried about how the information will be used.

The Department of Homeland Security published the new rule in the Federal Register last week, saying it wants to include "social media handles, aliases, associated identifiable information, and search results" as part of people's immigration file. The new requirement takes effect Oct. 18.

"The question is do we really want the government monitoring political views?" Patel said. "Social media may not be able to predict violence but it can certainly tell you a lot about a person's political and religious views."

Good. I know a lot of you who will "get yours" don't care, but it should be the Dream Act or nothing.

I agree. There are several things I don't like from SUCCEED, it takes 15 years to be eligible to become a USC, it's from the right ( i don't really care about this one, just want to rile up some peeps here), age cap, 10 years conditional GC, and most importantly it requires us to waive our due process/rights.

A big dilemma is, even though I dislike this bill, I don't if it's worser than going back to the shadows or not.

You know going back to the shadows means you have your immigration rights?

Based on my understanding of the constitution if you are a USC then you are a USC. There are no subsets such as the one where certain USC cannot sponsor their family or get certain tax reliefs written for USC. FUCK THOSE REPUBLICANS.

GOP Sen. Bob Corker retiring at end of term, possible 'yes' vote for DREAM Act?

This has no age cap either? If yes, we should like it.

There's no denying that. This bill states we can't sponsor anyone if we are GC holders, not USC.

I do not support this bill.

This is not Dream Act.

According to the lawyer who posted about it, it's like DACA's age cap.
