For those with outstanding debt, are you planning on paying it off prior to leaving the country (if it comes to that)? I currently finance my car, and have accumulated some credit card debt. I couldn't possibly attempt to pay off my debt prior to leaving, as I would be leaving the country with $0 in my wallet. As much as it pains me to do this, I might have to default on m car loan and credit cards, which would ruin my credit here forever.

Anyone else in the same boat? If so, what are you planning on doing?

That depends, does your credit matter to you after leaving?

If you plan to come back, you should pay off your debt.
If you plan to use your credit somehow outside of US, you should pay off your debt.

If my EAD expires next year October without a replacement by congress, I have no intention on continuing paying my debt or car payments. What's the point... I'm sure we are going to have a lot of loan delinquency come next year if a replacement for DACA doesn't happen.

I have a whole lot of debt . No intent of paying it, if I’m not able to work.

Is that a serious question?

Not sure what life you're leading but most people have to take on loans to buy houses and cars.

In my case I have a mortgage and up until daca was rescinded i was looking to get a business loan for my llc to expand and meet demand.

If our ability to pay off said loans is taken from us, what option is there for the debt?

Same boat here, bought a house last year, have some credit card debt to furnish new home and between my husband and I, we have 2 car loans. Obviously I will default on the credit card debt and maybe one car so we can stay in our home and have at least 1 vehicle. I also thought about just saying fuck It and get out as much credit as I can live large for the next year and screw the creditors. Blame the government not me!
