Is it worth it? Masters

I graduated with my Bachelors(Accouting) . I wanted to know if getting master has been helpful or has it even made and impact in your career. I wanted to transition from Accounting into an Business Analyst Role. I don't think accounting is for me. I have had internship in tax and audit . Any CPA dreamers here on this forum? Has anyone decided to make career change after getting Bachelors. Has anyone taken those coding classes. Do you guys think it is worth the money or a scam since you are just learning foundational stuff. Which you can learn on Udemy mostly.

If you want to be a software developer, learn on your own.

No need for master's.

If you want to learn at an accelerated pace maybe a reputable bootcamp would be an option.
You will get better faster.

Downside is that it is expensive.

I know some Java, C (mostly for work) and picking up Python. My learning got interrupted because of a Matlab project at work, but even Matlab has Object oriented tools so it is helping to develop some of the design patters approaches.

My wife is a CPA. According to her, you have to get a certain amount of hours in accounting before you're eligible to apply for the CPA exam. She mentioned that if you get a masters, that will cover that requirement.

So, yeah, if you're planning on becoming a CPA. She recommends getting your masters.

Is Masters worth it? Yes.

Masters will eventually become the new Bachelor degree. It can help you get a job over other candidates.

I have credit required for CPA exam. Since I completed my minor when finishing Acc degree. I think the notion of bachelors becoming new high school degree is somewhat true. I have been contacting people on LinkedIn most people agree that master would not become detrimental in any aspect as well trying to get advice on this subject.. Since I am not that passionate about Accounting. I will learn on my self for a while then get into master program that relates with CIS/ MIS. It would be stupid to go for another bachelors (waste of money as well) lol

Wow I started looking at master program that is a lot of money.
Has anyone taken those coding booting camp the reviews online are mixed. Most of them are almost 8-12k.

If you are planning on going to an audit firm, work on certifications like CIA, CFE - both can be achieved without masters. Certificates are worth more in the real job market than college degrees.

Make more than people with masters that have same year of experience than you?

I don't know much about Accounting degree... but for myself... I studied civil engineering... and PE license was more valuable than Master's degree. In general, work experiences and certifications are more valuable.
