Hello, long-time lurker, here. I want to post my story and hopefully get some positive vibes about the next step in my immigration path.

EWI at 4 y/o
Married USC, filed I-130 in 2011 but didn't complete the AOS because of obvious reasons.
DACA eligible and recipient in 2013
DACA renewal granted 2015 and 2017.
Applied for Advance Parole the day after Trump won the election. (I shoulda done it sooner.)
AP granted 7/24/2017
Traveled to visit my grandma in Mexico, returned 8/13/17 (trip of a lifetime, can't wait to go back)
Filed AOS 9/24/17
Just received RECEIPT NOTICE dated 10/6/17

I'm not that worried about the interview, my husband and I have been together 14 years so I have no doubt we can prove our relationship is real. What I'm really worried about is how long it's going to take. I don't want it to take so long that I have to do another medical exam etc. My receipt notice had the MO address. Does anyone know if that affects the processing time? I've read some really fast times, I really hope that's me! I'm hoping that having that previous I-130 on file will help speed things up, I didn't have to re-file it when we did the I-485. BTW, I went through the International Rescue Committee, an accredited legal assistance organization and I can't say enough how much I love their services. Sure, it's not an attorney and they sometimes take forever to get back to me but they waved their filing fee so all I paid was the USCIS fees and did it all with the peace of mind that all the paperwork was being filled out correctly.

I can't believe I actually submitted an application for green card. It's like a dream.

Hello all,

I have a question but not sure where to ask other than here.

So my wife's dad had some issues with the law, that have never been resolved, and my wife is going to try to help him become a legal permanent resident (she was born here); almost at this same time my wife will be sending my AOS application through marriage. My question is: if for any reason her dad gets in trouble with USCIS, could that affect my application? Or are the applications treated completely different each time?

Thank you for your advise.

Keep in mind that she needs to make enough money to sponsor you and your dad.

No, it's her dad the one she's helping out. Wait, so she should she make enough money to support her dad, and I? even though she lives with me, and not with her parents anymore? Her dad and I have jobs though, do they take our incomes into consideration?

Thanks for all your help Jorgearce, you're the MVP!

Well, I had someone else sponsor me because my wife didnt make the cut. We have been married for a few months, for that reason, we filled out our taxes individually. I am not sure of uscis takes joint taxes as proof of income. This os what I know for sure, given that you have no kids, she needs to prove that she made at least $25,525 last year AND that she will make that amount or more this year. If she made below that amount (even by a penny), you need to get a green card holder or US citizen to sponsor you.

Maybe someone with more experience can shed some light into this.

Hey guys question is it enough to attach for form i864, a copy of my taxes for the year 2016, it was joint with my wife.. and she didn't file taxes in 2014 due to her not working , just a letter stating that is fine correct ? Thank you . It's taking me forever to put all this together because of school and work . Want to make sure I'm doing it right since I couldn't afford a lawyer
