A 3 year old car still has one year of warranty left, so it will have a higher value than a car without warranty. Ideally there is no real data to see who is right or wrong since the BMW 2 series is not the same as the M2 but they both fall in the same category.

In conclusion, the depreciation does not drop as flies because there is insufficient data to declare this on a M2. Looks like the first M2 is 2016 so we need to wait until 2020 to see if you are right.
