hey guys,
kind of freaking out. my EAD expires in Jan and i submitted for renewal on oct 3rd. my application was returned today with a rejection letter saying that

USCIS no longer accepts requests for DACA (form i-821D) and accompanying Applications for Employment Authorization based on DACA.

It doesn't say I submitted late, or don't qualify based on my expiration date, etc. I used all the current forms. like wtf is this. they included the envelope i sent the forms in but it doesn't have a post date stamp and my dumb ass didn't send it certified mail. but i have proof on the mailing label that it was made on the 3rd. my parents say to resubmit it and tell them i qualify to be considered for renewal per their requirements.

i just bought a $20k car 2 weeks ago thinking i was for sure going to get renewed. I honestly don't know what my employer will say. they love me there and it's not a huge corporation. I told them way back when i started that I had daca but they didn't pay much attention to it. idk if i should bring it up or what.

First off remain calm. I would call USCIS and have your call elevated to an immigration officer or just go to your local USCIS office. As far as employment goes, I would not bring it up unless HR asks for the updated EAD.

Why didn’t you mail it express, next day delivery? Sometimes it doesn’t pay to be cheap. Good luck!

That's most likely the case. Not to be a jerk or anything but I don't see why you took that chance. USCIS is being super strict with renewals and you sending your package that late was kind of pushing it. If you can afford a 20k car, then you could have afford an early renewal or at least mail it express.

But anyways, good luck. Hopefully they give you another opportunity to apply.

wow submitting ur renewal in oct for jan expiration is already bad enough but you decided to get cocky after your previous renewal and didnt send it as express... i lost my words man.

talk to a uscis officer first and if that doesnt work go seek legal help.
