I completely disagree and these comments should be kept off a public forum. She is pushing hard for DA, don’t know where you’re getting your info.

She was able to pass DA in the house when she was the majority leader. We count on her to do it again this time. I support Pelosi 100%.

She was also able to get all Democrats to sign the discharge petition.

No, in the senate leadership you basically have:
1. VP - the chamber leader - de jure senate leader, holds relatively little power aside tiebreaking votes.
2. Majority leader - leader of the majority party, sets legislative agenda, de facto senate leader.
3. Majority whip - second highest ranking.
4. President Pro Tempore - generally the longest serving member of the majority party (again a ceremonial role), ordinary senator for most indents and purposes. While the job basically requires filling in for when the VP isn't in, those duties are normally delegated to freshmen senators. Amount of sway really depends on party dynamics.

Minority party:
5. Minority leader.
6. Minority whip.

In the house you have:
1. Speaker of the house - de facto chamber leader, de facto leader of the majority party.
2. Majority leader - #2 in majority party
3. Majority whip - #3 in majority party
Minority party:
4. Minority leader.
5. Minority whip.
6. #3 in the party (unnamed position)

None yet as these were state elections, however house districts are drawn by the states. Look up what gerrymandering is, Rs have been using creative map drawing to stay in power for a decade. Now imagine what NJ or VA would look like if democrats decide to fight fire with fire and redraw the maps to disenfranchise republicans.

Another thing we are seeing is a huge democrat participation in an off-year election. Which bodes well for the 2018 midterm, 2019 off year, and 2020 general. We might even take a house in 2018.

While you can't rule with just one chamber it keeps republicans from pushing their stupid shit across. If we snag the senate too we might even go ahead and impeach Trump or at least frustrate him to no end by sending bills that he'd hate to his desk. Even with the house we can pull everything to the left. Oh you want a budget, well we want these things. Looks like another shutdown it is. You really think Pelosi would cave against Trump, woman has huge balls and she has no problem shoving them in Trump's face.

Another huge factor is how many candidates the democrats have been able to recruit. Seems like more and more minorities and women want to participate in government and that bodes well. Before some 40 something Virginia assembly seats went unchallenged this year only 12.
