Just wanna congratulate a couple of the DAP members here that just naturalized under MAVNI and few of you that just received your USCIS interview dates.

There are couple things to keep in mind.

Naturalized soldiers:
-please remember that you are obligated to serve the next 5 years in your component to be able to keep your citizenship and this time started to accumulate when you enlisted in for the reserves(so most of you should only have 3 years left, no thanks to the delay)
-YOU ARE A US CITIZEN NOW. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF ANYTHING(army opportunity and everything else wise)
-you are free to travel to most of the countries in the world except for some that were banned by DoD. You will need to let your unit know if youre leaving country every time. Its nothing, they just wanna keep tabs on you and make sure you are safe since youre their responsibility now.(This is more of a safety brief. You dont need their permission, but if you didnt let them know and something happens to you overseas your family cannot claim your servicemen life insurance.

USCIS interview people:
-Please study for the civics test. Its super easy and I have all the test questions and answers for this year's test if you are worried about that.
-They are just gonna go over the N-400 with you in person and you must answer the questions as you originally submitted unless you need to make corrections or justify your previous answer, but it should be straight forward.
-If you can, please have an updated N426(O6 signed) with you at the interview. You dont need to show them unless they tell you they must have it in order to naturalize you or you have already been RFE to submit one.
-Be proud of what are you doing, as far as I know, a lot of USCIS officers love the military applicants and they will try their best to accommodate you. So show up looking sharp and professional(regulation~~~)

Feel free to pm me or text me, my phone is best for urgent questions since I dont go on here every day.

Very helpful as always. Appreciate your input in the community! After gaining citizenship, I wonder if it would be possible to apply for ROTC and have them cancel the current contract to commission instead.. trying to take advantage of that scholarship.

there are many routes man. OCS, ROTC/SMP, even West Point if you’re young enough. You just need to get the temporary release form signed or other stuff dependa on the path. start researching now, aim for 300+ PT, get recommendation letters

The sooner u turn in the leave packet the better. You have to get a “country clearance” (if u go overseas), and sometimes that can take a while, few weeks or so.
