Doesn't change the fact everything's so tense you can cut air with a knife. Republicans are flexing and trying to whip up votes to get any sort of extension and democrats aren't budging. This is why things are so quiet.

I can imagine Ryan trying to get the freedom caucus to let him kick the can down 2 weeks.

There will be a government shutdown, they're just trying to cushion their fall here with people being furloughed when they're essentially off from work anyways. This is why we have this goofy 2 week extension floating. They could give people essentially a week off for the holidays, and as long as there's a funding bill by Jan 2nd most government workers won't even notice that they were put on leave.

Say what you will but people's paychecks being late just in time for the holidays will make a whole lot of government employees unhappy, and a whole lot of retailers unhappy too, and who gets the blame from the average Joe? The President. What party is the President? Republican.

If Hillary had won republicans would love to roll the shutdown until 2020.

I’m going to cry if it gets extended to the 22nd. I’m already mentally drained.

We should know by Thursday after the Pelosi and Schumer meeting with Trump.

Technically 8th is the last day. Government is funded until Dec 8th, 11:59:59 PM.

Still if there's any last second deals it will pass on the 7th or the 8th. If it rolls into a shutdown then it can take really any amount of times depending how it all unfolds.
