We are at this point because OUR PARENTS made a choice. This country does not owe us anything. Change your tone you ungrateful brat!

They'll forget about our reaction as we retreat back into the shadows.

I don't understand the hesitation. they can either:

a) shut government down until they can pass a solution for us. Have people mad for a few weeks or;

b) fund the government without Dream Act or whatever, and basically ruin the lives of millions of people.

I agree with this but can’t help to be angry/upset/stressed because of the fact that nothing has come into fruition the 25 years I’ve been in this country completing all my schooling, paying taxes and assimilating. As much as the Dream Act would be the ideal scenario, I’m not going to run around and say anything but the dream act is unacceptable. I would be happy with anything that gives me some type of status and peace of mind. DACA humbled me and you guys should feel the same way.
Either way, still hoping for a Christmas miracle!

The problem with this is that you can take what you said and use it every year...that is the plight we face.

If the Democrats accept everything else that the Repubs give them, and they cast the Dreamer fix aside...(THATS RIGHT I SAID DREAMER FIX...NOT DACA FIX...lol...)...then we are not that important of an issue to them...and I am not knocking them too much for that, as I can understand all the other issues that affect citizens of the country directly will always take priority.

If our situation is not treated as something super urgent emergency like most everything else...then it will most likely NEVER be done...thats the basic reality of it.

Of course the country does not 'owe' us. This is not a debt. It's about fair and progressive leadership,
They have made very poor political decision in regards to immigration reform - Dream Act and otherwise.

By all means enlighten us with your evidence of successful Democratic immigration reform strategy.

Agreed that we are all feeling stressed and it is understandable This country does not owe us anything so lets appreciate that we are part of a NATIONAL conversation and something will happen for us - even if it is the Bridge Act.

People like dtrt09 are annoying as F. This is a public forum and people need to stop coming off entitled which gives Republicans more ammunition against us.

In hindsight, it doesn't look like Democrats had all that much leverage (some in the Senate maybe). The freedom caucus seems to be coming through for Republican leadership for these CRs.

They were like the overall Republican party during the Obama years who voted for Obamacare repeal because they knew Obama was there to veto, but hesitated when it was for real. Now the freedom caucus is voting for the spending bills because they really can't let the government shutdown, especially on their watch.

Trump would not be President if it was about fair and progressive leadership. Wake up, take your meds and then comment on this forum.

Amen to that! Some dreamers feel entitled. We should be lucky that they even give a damn about us because if this was some other countries, we'll just be rounded up and taken back to where we originally came from.
