If it's brought to the floor, it will pass. Remember the 34 republicans in the house that sent Ryan the letter? That + Dems = pass.

I totally get that and will take any relief that we get. I'm just saying that there are some parents that, while undocumented, have careers and educations behind them and would like an opportunity to become citizens, if given the opportunity. Let's not pool all parents together using a broad brush.

I'm not very good when it comes to politics. Do every Dems need to vote yes along with the 34 repubs?

Think you need 218 votes to pass. Dems are 193+34= 227. It'll be much more than that though if brought to a vote, it's same scenario in Senate, if voted on, it'll pass.

CIR will give them that opportunity. I think this is a good bill considering what we have had so far.

A week or two seems very long with all the uncertainty and our situation. Just cannot focus on anything anymore. Also they will probably discuss the points even more once the bill comes out.

Anyone read this ? "The Congressional Black Caucus is expected to oppose any end to the diversity visa, however, because it would end most immigration from Africa. "

How about creating a guest worker program for Africans? Or just reducing the countries eligible for the DV lottery down to only African ones?

"In addition to border security, other points of negotiation include the how to address the Dreamers, undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children. Sen. Durbin was adamant that any deal include a path to citizenship for all Dreamers, not just those who applied for the DACA program."

Yaaass. That just made my day. Now omw to study 5 hours.
