i want to do volunteering for my school but...

i have to do Live Scan or finger print first

so.. you know i have to put SOC# on the appication to do that

and u know i dont have SOC#..

i think i just gonna put the school id number ..should i??

i'm so scare...

i dont know how it works?

i'm so afraid that they gonna find out...about my status..

There's really no volunteer opportunities without having to go through a background check? I know at my school pretty much the only things needing finger printing was if you were tutoring little kids or working with little kids in some way cuz they didn't want creepos helping them. Other than that, the rest you could just sign up for. I was in two volunteer organizations and i just stayed away from tutoring even though i wanted to do it so bad. I did pretty much everything else.

I don't think your school ID would work since they check SSN's.

I have my own social (even though it's not valid for working) and i use it. Most organizations appreiciate that you are Volunteering your time and appreiciate your help so they don't even bother to mention your lack of satus if and hwen it shows up on your backgroud check.

I would be careful, I was stupid and didn't know about my status when I first applied to volunteer ( I'm really mad my parents for that) and luckily it worked out.

When I student taught, I had to do a live scan, finger printing. I took a risk and used my foreign passport (no visa) and it was accepted

what type of vounteering is it? I do some at a local youth run away shelter here and the only thing i had to do was complete a 40 hour training. Could you find someting similar to what you want to do outside of school? With more choices you are bound to find something that'll work.
