Brief recap of Graham during the DHS hearing

Quote:
I don’t know where that guy went [Trump from Tuesday].

I want him back.

As we move forward, how does this movie ends? What is going to happen?
—
If the president is watching, I’m still in the phonebook, don’t give my number out but call me.

This [situation] has turned into an S-show and we need to get back into being a great country. Where Democrats and Republicans have worked together, to do something we should’ve done years ago.

To the 700,000 young people, some young, some older, we are not going to leave you behind. I don’t know how this movie ends, but you are gonna be taken care of”

Things are going to get better. It is not going to end this way. The president ran hot, I think I know why... something happened between Tuesday and Thursday, and we’ll get to the bottom of that…

Somebody needs to fix this problem, Obama couldn’t do it, Bush couldn’t do it, and both of them to their great credit …tried. Do you think President Trump can do this?

"I think he wants to do this"-- Sec. Nielsen

And I think, Dick Durbin, has been one of the best people you could’ve hope to worked with. He’s an honest, decent man, a liberal Democrat, [...] and I'm a conservative Republican... but in this and other things, we can find a way forward.

So Mr. President, I’m gonna end today, where I ended Tuesday, close this deal…

At least he’s talking and making noise, not sitting back like Schumer and Pelosi.

Seriously, where the fuck are they?

Especially Schumer, not a word from him. At least Pelosi has kept her caucus unified

What do Schumer and Pelosi have to do anything? Did my post or any previous post gush about how caring and loving Chuck and Nancy are? I have high expectations for supporters. I expect them to fight actively for our cause, be willing to make noise for the issue, use their connections to the dnc (or rnc) to threaten to cut off campaign funds to other politicians if they don’t vote for this issue. I recognize that realistically, not every senator will do this. But I refuse to settle for anything else. In today’s world, no one is going to full on fight for you out of the goodness of their heart. At best, they might show a half hearted effort. But by making the full on fight a really ridiculously high fight, I can make the half hearted attempt one that achieves a lot more of my goals.

Also, talk is cheap. Lindsey Graham is not putting anything on the line to say that fluff. If he wants me to admire him, he will vote to shut down the government this week. He anyway said that if it doesn’t happen this month, it probably won’t happen. If he votes for a CR without a DACA fix, it will be further confirmation that he really doesn’t care about us. He just loves talking about us.

Graham and many politicans don’t have to love us. As long as someone is somewhat actively working with Durbin and tries to manage a deal with Trump, we should appreicate the efforts there. Graham dismisses the Muller investigation so on that front I can’t agree with him. But the fact he doesn’t deny and back Trump ln the shithole comment, and the fact he has been working with Durbin this whole time shows he is genuinely interested in getting this DA thing fixed. Whatever his agenda is, I don’t care.

Schumer and Pelosi are worse than Cotton. They are cowards. They don’t have the guts to back Durbin and they suck at keeping their D caucus together. Even Sander should get some points taken. Hos focus is not with DACA. I see his posts on DACA and immigration, yeah, but that’s about it. I hope he could be more help. I don’t know, I know he is a great guy... perhaps I was hoping he is powerful but apparently not. No one listens to him on the Hill. Idk

Durbin might be weak but he has been working on this issue for almost twenty fucking years, let’s us all thank him with love.

I don’t care. Flake and Graham are the only R allies we have right now. No one else.
