I expire in October and was getting my packet ready for renewal as most people here are doing, however I noticed this.

The expiration date is 1/31 so this is the latest. Where are people getting that you CAN file for renewal if you expire in one year?

EDIT: I see that there is a page on USCIS that does say "(because renewal requests typically must be submitted within one year of the expiration date of your last period of deferred action approved under DACA)"

But this statement doesn't contradict what's on the guidelines. This is in regards to renewals being okay to submit after DACA expires as long as it's filed within one year of expiration date.

This.

If you don't want to submit, then don't. Why are so many people here hell bent on trying to convince others not to submit? What the hell are you afraid of? Worse case scenario is that they send your application back and you can re-apply 150 days before expiration if DACA is still around by.

If they accept applications from people who are applying early right now now and the DACA injunction gets struck down by the time you apply in the future, who do you think will be crying? You, not us.

By the way, there are plenty of people on this forum who applied 7 to 8 months in advance last year.

I agree it wouldn't hurt to submit. But some people on renewal threads think that there was never a 120-150 day window. And it would be guaranteed acceptance if filed before a year (which I still don't know where that came from).

The window is clearly stated on I821d guidlines. Hope those people see this thread.

LOL ligthen up DreamerSD23 and cooltalker. I am just pointing out the verbiage of USCIS. I still intend on submitting. Just wanted to know where that 1 year window thing came up about.

USCIS also tells you to wait for your Biometrics appointment, yet people have been walking in on earlier dates since the program began.

Right... that's not what I was asking.

And maybe I need to add a disclaimer here because obviously some (somehow) took personal offense to my question:

I am planning to renew. I just want to know if there was any wording or indication on USCIS page where people are encouraged or given the green light to file if they expire in less than a year.

Mine expires in August - and i just sent it - but people are just taking a chance. There is nothing written on the USCIS page.

However, due to the sheer volume of "early" renewal applications, they might turn us down.
