Kelly: New process implemented so that Trump is informed of all sides of an issue

Baier: What happened on Thursday?

Kelly: Durbin called and said they came to a bipartisan agreement. I (Kelly) was confused how they did that so fast. Called house members Goodlatte, McCarthy, Ryan to ask if they had heard about this. They said no. He told Trump, Graham and Durbin + subset of bipartisan came up with deal.

Trump: Asks Kelly to call Cotton and Perdue

Kelly: Invites Cotton Perdue and others, now Durbin and Graham show up to the WH. Claims Trump likes when people have an 'intellectual discussion' about the issues.

Trump: Sees the deal as a starting point, does not think enough funding for Wall, chain migration not strong enough.

Kelly: Claims that this deal is on one specturm, the Goodlatte bill is on the other end of the spectrum, Trump wants something at least more in the middle. Today he (Kelly) was on the hill talking to CHC and new 'gang of 4' - Durbin, McCarthy, Hoyer, Cornyn. He thinks there can be a deal done.

Baier: What does Trump want for 'chain migration' and 'wall'

Kelly: Right now (and this can change too), he wants nuclear family (no parents or siblings), 20B for the Wall + enforcement

Kelly: Claims Trump has changed his views over time on DACA from super hardline to wanting to do a deal, he changed his views on the wall, sounded like he could change on the 'chain migration' definition.

Kelly: I am not doing this job for my career or anything. I don't need this. I'm doing this for the sake of the country.
