All of these factors mean there's going to be a shutdown.

1. House already left, only way to avoid the shutdown is via the senate passing their CR as is with no amendments.
2. Senate republicans don't have the votes or they'd bring the measure up already.
3. Schumer tried negotiating with Trump and it went nowhere. Neither wants to cede any ground.
Thank you for explaining. 👍

This is all wrong...
House has not left.
There will be a 5 day extension.
House will have to vote on it tonight.

Your source on 5-day extension?

That hasn't been confirmed.

John Roberts on FNC just reported that Schumer and Trump meeting put 2 options on the table, 5 day or shutdown and that 5 day is likely to happen.

Okay and? The point is house is not left and current CR is not likely to pass... The 5 day CR is better than shutting down.

He's bitter and pissed about that so he's trying whatever he can to stay relevant, including saying bitchy things about Senators. He must be fuming. How satisfying.
