My point is that is NOT a done deal so saying it is when it’s not it’s just spreading fake news.

There will be a 5 day extension.
House will have to vote on it tonight.
I really doubt the Freedom Caucus will agree on that since they think they did their part already throwing everything back to square one where Ryan has to whip up votes again.

Schumer also only backed a 3 day extension which in all honestly only increases the futility of the situation, if you can't get your shit together in 4 months you won't do it in 3-5 days. You might as well just fund the government in 12 hour increments at this point.

If Democrats vote for the 5 day extension and the Freedom Caucus votes against it, the GOP would undoubtedly be to blame for the shutdown.

A 5-day extension would get us very close to the State of the Union.

At this point we need to stop believing 5-day extension will do much. Just shut it down.

We don’t need to care about how everyone else in america is doing. We are all on the same boat. We need everyone to suffer so that Congress has the ball to get shit down in bipartisan way. Who the hell cares about the State of the Union? He can talk all he wants.

Right now this is the time to fuck it up. We need to fuck up this government. Shut it down!

I don't understand this line of thought. They've done more these past four days than they have the past four months.

The closer Trump gets to SoTU the more leverage Democrats have. This upcoming short CR (3-5 days) already puts the ball back on GOP's court because the Dems can say that they were for keeping the government open but the GOP denied them.

If Senate pass 5 days extension, and Ryan put it up for vote, Freedom Caucus will vote against, Dem and other Reps will vote to have it passed.

If Ryan does not put it up for vote, Republicans will be blamed.

If there is enough vote to shutdown, there will be enough vote to pass in Senate.. I'm not sure about House though.

Can you imagine Trump making his State of the Union speech and the government being shut down? As he said himself, the President takes a large part of the blame if a shut down happens.

Trump doesn't want to be in that position. He would have to negotiate. More pressure.

I agree though, this wait is tough for DREAMers.
