They weren’t anti immigrant. They just didn’t really see me as one of them. I think the DACA thing just put a nail in the coffin.

Honestly, I'm more worried about spending time with my daughter and if the NY Rangers will make the playoffs than all this DACA bs.
A dreamer that loves the NHL ...... and they think we're monolithic

Pretty anxious and depressed, to be frank. With all that’s going on with DACA and my parents’ own immigration case (they are in removal proceedings and waiting for their hearing next year..) I just can’t help but feel upset most of the time. It doesn’t help that my siblings look to me for help and guidance for immigration situation and I have no positive answer to give right now.I’m getting married this year and praying that I am able to help my parents. Still worried sick for my siblings though.

Dang! I've only told 3 of my friends because I know they are liberals. But some of my friends just don't care about politics or voted for Trump. The friends that voted for Trump I just smile and say nothing.

Sleep has been rough for me. When I'm awake, I do a fairly good job of keeping my mind occupied. I do that by going to the gym and focusing on the things that, if worst comes to worst, I can use outside of the states. Like getting an education and saving money for the worst case scenario. I try to at least hang out with friends on the weekends to keep me refreshed. I still try to achieve the goals I would have if I were not a dreamer. Right now, I'm studying to be a software developer and working. I haven't been sleeping well the last couple of weeks tho, mostly because those thoughts I've suppressed throughout the day come up. I wake up pretty shook and it takes a good few minutes to snap out of it.

My biggest advice is to exercise and try to eat well. Then try to make small goals and accomplish them. Feel free to DM me if you need 1-on-1 talks. It'd probably be helpful for me too. That's an open invite to everyone btw.

Oddly I am not doing so bad considering all that is going on. Alot of my friends are inspired by my constant drive to continue living life, very remaining active and working very hard. I'm keeping myself busy. I am grateful for all the opportunities that I have had so far; all the challenges, all the struggles and all the mountains, that I climbed made me who I am today. Every hour, every day and every week; I am trying to live it as if it was my last. With that, I work my full time job, also provide consulting services on the side after work, I take grad classes, I put in time to stay in touch with close friends and spend time with family, while also being up to date on the situation/ news on the dreamers solution
So all of you out there, take this entire situation in a more optimistic manner. Use every moment you can to do things and be positively active. Do things that benefit the community around you (ie. helping a friend, helping a neighbor, working your jobs, volunteering) and work very very hard. Get out there and bring out your very best!
