The White House on Sunday blasted a bipartisan immigration proposal ahead of a Senate vote to end the government shutdown.

White House spokesman Hogan Gidley called the plan co-authored by Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) “a giant step in the wrong direction” that is too lax on illegal immigration.

There you go. The White House will veto any immigration plan that is not the Goodlatte bill. No way a stand-alone bill is becoming law .

I’ve come to realize trump won’t do shit for us not the Republicans. The only way are moderate Republicans and dems passing a veto proof bulk or attaching it to miss pass legislation.

i got no problem w/ Trump hes a dummy and he’ll sign anything, its the people surrounding him and whispering in his ear thats preventing us to be great.

but then i guess ur right, the buck stops with him, hes a grown man thay should be making executive decisions.

I said it and I’ll say it again. If CR is passed tomorrow think hard and clear about your future. It’s very clear where GOP stands on immigration and if dems allows CR to pass, they won’t be given any further leverage. GOP will make sure of that.

The Graham-Durbin proposal would also allow parents of young immigrants to apply for a renewable legal status — but not a path to citizenship.
Does anyone here thinks the White House would really go for this...
