It was doing well during the obama admin.. takes a few months/years for everything to start kicking. We havent felt trumps effect yet. I am not saying its bad it could be good, but we just won a blue seat in alabama. Thats a huge sign people will vote blue. The reason being is during the elections people didnt really vote because they where given the lesser of 2 evils.
Trump woke up the people and they will vote. He has offended every race during the last year.

If this is truly the extent of the impasse, then this could potentially be great news.

Green cards with no path to citizenship for the wall is something that Democrats can accept.

Citizenship for wall + limits to family reunification can be agreed to depending on what those limits are. If they remove a category like sponsoring siblings in exchange for 1million+ new Dreamer citizens, it may be worth it. If Republicans are asking to remove all categories except marriage + kids under 21, Democrats will balk. In that case, option 1 is better.
