In my opinion reducing family based categories restricting it to nuclear family only and adding merit based is better for the country too. How many countries allow all siblings to be sponsored? Know of many cases where just one usc sponsors upto 25 -30 people (all siblings and their children). You have this influx every year and on the other hand you have tax paying individuals waiting to be accepted.

Uh what about parents? Almost every non American culture has parents living with their children when they get old...

And what about 21+ sons and daughters? Just because they turn 21 doesn't mean they stop being part of the nuclear family.

Trump has no excuse. Dems have no excuse.

Dream Act is merit-based. Solve this issue once and for all, din't cut anyone out who wualifies for Dream Act, and make sensible changes thst cut down on fraud.

I don't think the issue is trump he just wants a damn wall. It's the people surrounding him who keeps derailing any/all progress that has been made

This isn't a fix though. It just makes it messier.
