Actually, it's most of your immediate family because for some reason once you turn 21 you stop being as important as your 17 year old sibling.

Wait, so is this what's going to be passed?? Couldn't they add parents to the nuclear family list?

Pass a DACA extension. Then wait for Trump to be kicked out of the white house.

This is what I'm concerned about most of all. That they might give us a GC with a string attached to it, that they can yank back and take it away from us any moment we throw a gum wrapper on the floor and get a misdemeanor.
I am surprise everyone here is saying it looks good

can they not read? Public Safety and public charge..?

https://www.uscis.gov/greencard/public-charge

Quote:
Q. What is a public charge and when does it apply?

A. For purposes of determining inadmissibility, “public charge” means an individual who is likely to become primarily dependent on the government for subsistence, as demonstrated by either the receipt of public cash assistance for income maintenance or institutionalization for long-term care at government expense.

what the hell... ? you guys better not lose your jobs because it looks they will be checking to see if you could potentially become a public charge. Its not if you are, if its you COULD become at the time of application. But I am sure everyone here is making a six figure income, driving Bentleys and washing their hands with sparkling water

we never qualified for federal benefits in the first place, so Dreamers wont be when they get legalized and if their lives depended on it. we shouldnt have that mentality anyway, we have to prove ourselves.

this is the burden of being a Dreamer, in my mind we are never good enough. thats why we always have to live up to our maximum potential.

the public charge aspect has been law for a long time for immigrants, it just hasnt come up now.

No. Citizenship will hopefully be passed and when Trump is impeached, they’ll change the laws.

You can't sponsor your cousins cousin, aunt, or your cousins nephew twice removed right now, so I don't get what you mean.

This is really not a big deal and is a criterion for pretty much any immigrant. I think if ppl have somewhat marketable skills or family members with marketable skills, they should be fine. Now if all of these people go to college or the military, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Same here. My brother can file for my mother in 2years. It’s heartbreaking and I hope they stick to just DACA for border security.
