Dude, stop overthinking! You are only risking $495 for possible 2 extra years. Not sure why you are even second guessing this.

I expire in Oct. Already filed, already done with biometrics. As far as I am concerned, if you expire in 2018 and have not filed for renewal in this very trying times, you are LATE!

Send it now!!

Your best source of information will come from those who already went or are going through the process.

Many of us already have. See below:

Send it. Read and reread all the required forms over and over. If you have questions about ANYTHING, ask here too!

I also expire in Oct. and my packet was delivered yesterday. $495 is nothing for another two years of not worrying if the knock on the door is agents taking me away.

Unless you've recently had contact with the police or a criminal record before applying to DACA, there is no harm in renewing. The worst that can happen is losing $495. They already have our information so if they are going to use it against us they will even if we don't try renewing.

The reason NILC and other organizations often say to first contact a lawyer is they don't know your individual situation so it's better for them to to be cautious with their advice. Someone who was recently arrested or has an expunged DUI - should contact a lawyer before renewing.

Ultimately the decision is up to you.

Send it in, those who don't will regret doing so when Congress fails to pass a permanent solution.

I personally think the people who don't send a renewal now will feel like the people who didn't apply for DACA when it was available when the injuction gets overturned. Js.

I just surprised there's no consensus on the advice given on these websites. But then again, these are different times.

Anyway, off to my lunch, tonight, I'll do my passport pictures at costco.

I just came from the US postal office. Sent out my third-time renewal (Exp. 08/10/2018 ). Paid $24 for the priority mail express and it will arrive in Chicago tomorrow. I hope my biometrics is scheduled for this month as I will not step inside an immigration office after the DACA has been revoked (March 5th). I do urge anyone still thinking about it to apply ASAP.
