Dear XXXXX,

Thank you for your recent correspondence in support of H.R. 1275, the American Dream Act. I appreciate hearing from you.

H.R. 1275, legislation to amend the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 to permit States to determine State residency for higher education purposes and to authorize the cancellation of removal and adjustment of status of certain alien students who are long term U.S. residents and who entered the U.S. as children.

H.R. 1275, introduced by Rep. Berman, has been referred to the House Education and Labor as well as Judiciary Committees. While I am not a member of either of these committees, I will be sure to keep you views in mind should this legislation come to the house floor for consideration.

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your views....

Nothing big but it makes me feel a little better to know that he is willing to consider it.

I did speak to someone in his office regarding the Dream Act and they said he supports it. Not sure how much anyones word is worth these days.

^i agree.

Take a look at my representative, when he was running for re-election he blasted illegal immigrants calling them all kinds of stuff. But now he says he supports things like the Strive Act.

I agree, be wary of what members of the House say. They are only elected for 2 years, so they have to answer to their constituents very soon. Whereas Senators are elected for 6 years, members of the House don't have the luxury of time. They have to deliver on their promises very quickly. Hardliners can't afford to support DREAM Act now and hope that constituents will forget after enough time because there isn't enough time. Be very wary of freshmen democrats who say that they support the DREAM Act.

Also I'm starting an extensive project on determining which Reps. to call and email. I will be doing some thorough analysis on them and for obvious reasons (Alilosers), I won't post my analysis here. I'll keep you all updated.
