So, I was driving back to my San Antonio and I have to pass an immigration check point. I have passed this check point many times. Today when I went thru we got stopped and the agent asked if If I've ever been in trouble. I told him no. He then said that category C33 doesn't exist anymore. He told me that I had to get off and go in the office to fill out some paperwork to correct the mistake. After looking at him in confusion for a while, he then told me to just go head and go. He said he didn't want to hold the line anymore. He told me next time I go thru a checkpoint that I need to get off and fill out paperwork. What do you guys make of this? Has this ever happen to any of you?
if you can avoid that area, pls do.

I had a similar situation a few years ago (under Obama) when I was driving from Big Bend back to San Antonio. There's a BP checkpoint just inside the park and they detained me for 15 minutes while they ran all my documents. At the end the agent berated me for not having my passport and a valid visa on me (???) and that if he wanted to, he could've arrested me and given me a fine.

I Always show my documents. When I tell them I'm not a citizen they ask for my papers.

I travel between McAllen and Austin often. 3 out of 5 times when I go through this checkpoint and mention deferred action, they don't seem to be concerned enough to bother and ask for my documents. They do however seem concerned enough to ask me a million questions about my vehicle. Sometimes they ask about my destination and what I do for a living. On other occasions when they've asked to see my documents, they never take more than a couple of minutes to verify everything is in order and send me on my way. I once had a guy ask me if I mind showing him my documents so he could show the guy he was training what that looked like (as if I had a choice).

Even with DACA checkpoints are always scary. I always sweat it. I’ve driven the El Paso one a few tiles and then there is one in New Mexico I believe (I drive from Austin to LA).

I hate the airport also. Ever since getting a Texas DL they look at it for a while and I have gotten dirty looks. The CA doesn’t say anything, the Texas one says “Limited Term” on it and it always raises eyebrows. So fun.
